Carlsbad is fast becoming a
destination for local tourism and visitors from far away alike.
The city's beachfront locale boasts more than seven miles of beautiful
clean beaches, over 150 acres of parks, summer Jazz in the Park
concerts, picnic facilities and play areas, three community centers
and three championship golf courses. Additionally, the Carlsbad
Village Faire, featuring almost 1000 exhibitors (held on the first
Sunday of May and November), is the largest one-day street fair
in San Diego County, and draws visitors from near and far.
Known
as "The Village by the Sea," Carlsbad has the charm
of a European village and much of the architecture reflects this
old-world theme. The Village's unique sidewalk shops and superb
restaurants are just a short walk from the
beach. The
city’s famed Flower Fields, which are less than a mile
from Ramada Carlsbad, draw thousands of visitors from Southern
California and beyond each spring, when more than 50 acres of
brightly colored ranunculus light up the landscape with thousands
of blooms.
For
a weekend family outing, be sure to visit Legoland's 128-acre
family theme park - dedicated to families with children between
the ages of 2 and 12. Just like with Lego toys, kids make things
happen at the Park. They can drive, pedal, squirt, climb, jump,
stomp, slide, steer, pull, click, push, gallop, laugh, build and
program their way through more than 50 rides and attractions.
For
the nature enthusiast, San Diego Animal Park is a 15 minute drive
inland from Carlsbad. From the Ramada Carlsbad it is
less than 2 miles to the GIA (Gemological Institute of America),
the world's largest institute of gemological research and education.
